who laughs last - Independent Theater Hungarywho laughs last
ki nevet a végén?
Stand-up is mainly a male genre—but what are we to do when the girls of Independent Theater Hungary are tougher than anyone else? Four “harmless” chicks set the stage on fire as they win over every heart with playful ease and leave every abdominal muscle aching. Once they open their mouths and the words start pouring out, we might just have to rethink the concept of harmlessness.
"At least the girls always tell me: “Always be the crazier one in the relationship.”
And I CAN relate to that!"

Background
The Stand Up Roma (SUR) project is an international initiative empowering young artists to create deeply personal stand-up comedy shows that explore cultural identity and challenge social stereotypes. To prepare for the stage, the participants underwent intensive international training that successfully blended traditional Commedia dell’Arte techniques with modern stand-up comedy. This creative journey resulted in three main productions: the Hungarian performance "Who Laughs Last / Ki nevet a végén?", the Italian production "Uncertain Identities / Identità Incerte", and the Romanian partner Giuvlipen's show "Get Up Roma, Stand Up".
All of these unique performances came together and were featured at the prestigious Roma Heroes International Theater Festival in Budapest, where they debuted in a vibrant, highly interactive format to celebrate authentic voices and freedom of expression.

Reviews
‘Lucia Lakatos and Ramóna Farkas aren’t just beautiful—they’re full of energy, cheerful, and kind, and they even have a great sense of humor. Some people think that stand-up comedy is mainly a man’s world, but they prove those clichés wrong.’
